What is this red insect in my strawberry patch, and how do I control it? With safe natural solutions.

Hand picking, knocking it into soapy water or crushing, blasting them off with a spray of water are the natural, safe control measures. The resolution of the photo is too low for me to see any distinguishing markings so I don't know what it is.
