Bamboo creep or not? #330218

Is there any bamboo that is not invasive that eventually you have to dig up again and again? A resident wants to plant it and others are concerned about creep/invasion. Patti

I think I am now receiving the question you emailed me. Here is the same answer I gave in response to your email.
Fargesia is a genus of cold-hardy non-running bamboo. It is perfectly acceptable to grow in mid-Atlantic gardens. Below is a webpage article that explains about this bamboo. Most of the bamboo sold in the US is running and is aggressive and would not be desirable to plant in a home garden.
