Unidentified plant #326934
Asked May 31, 2016, 7:25 AM EDT
I found this plant amidst bulbs of lenten roses when I was dividing them. Possibly a "weed." It has pearl-like nodules in the roots (about 1/4" diameter). Can you tell me what it is?

Expert Response
This is wild violet, considered a very common lawn weed, but if you like it you can leave it. It will spread prolifically in damp shady areas.
