Marionberry plants dying #326741

Asked May 30, 2016, 4:39 PM EDT

My marionberry plants are dying. The leaves are turning yellow and brown and the vine dies. Can you tell by the attached pictures what is wrong and recommend some type of fungicide or treatment? Where do I get the treatment? Is it a controlled substance? I am a novice grower. We live in Birmingham, AL so the soil is not too wet. They get plenty of water.

Expert Response

Without a closer look at what's causing leaves of your Marionberry plant to yellow, brown and die, I could not recommend a treatment.

Since you live in Birmingham, best option is bring a sample of plant in process of turning to yellow, about 10" long, with several leaves on it to the Plant Pathology Lab at B'ham Botanical Gardens.  Our plant pathologist, Dr. Jacobi, can take a look at the sample, may run tests to assess cause of damage, and recommend based on results.  Lab hours are M-F, 8-4:30.
