Damage trunk on my maple tree. #324214

I need an arborist in the Rochester area to assess my maple tree. It is approximately 7 years old and was hit by lightning 3 years ago. The limb was removed and I started seeing this dark ghoo in the area. I sprayed it with an antifungal. This year the tree looks magnificent, it is full and completely leafed. Upon closer inspection however, a middle portion of the trunk where all the major branches extend out, is dark and the bark is coming off in sheets.
I was told when I bought this tree that it was a Cardinal Maple. I do not believe it is. The color in the fall is orange.
