unidentified plant in window box only #324127

Asked May 22, 2016, 11:52 PM EDT

Hello! I have been scouring the internet for two weeks trying to identify this plant. So far it has been contained in one of my planter boxes. It was in my planter last year and seems to have returned on it's own this year. I am hoping that you can clue me in as to the name of the plant and it's tendencies. Thanking You In Advance, Dawn Drolet

It is a plant in the mustard family called hairy bittercress, Cardamine hirsuta.  It's a common weed in nurseries and pots.  See http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ep511 for more information.

Thank you so much!  I have no idea how it got there and nowhere else but it's awesome that I have a name and information about the plant!
