Money tree #321300

Asked May 13, 2016, 11:27 AM EDT

My money tree, which is many years old, has never been pruned As a result it is very tall ( about 6 ft) and very leggy, as the leaves are on the top of the tree and not any in the middle Is it safe to cut it down completely? Any suggestions would be appreciated thank-you

Hi,

You could try pruning some of the branches back but this plant wants to be a 60 foot tree and will most likely not sprout new growth or much new growth from the bottom. It looks like it has outgrown its spot and your best bet may really be to just start with a new smaller plant.
