Dying Pine Tree, Can I get it back? #320464

Hi,
I am not sure what kind of pine tree this is, but it appears to be thinning out badly or possibly dying. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to bring it back as I have a few of these pines in my yard. We just moved into this house in December. We are in DeWitt. I have attached pictures.
Thanks, Scott

Sorry to say that the tree is not survivable. Appears to be a spruce instead of a pine and it appears to have suffered a long bout with a needlecast disease. New needles keep growing on the tips but become infected, die, and drop withing a year or two. Once leaves die off on a spruce they do not replace themselves. There is a spray fungicide used as treatment but it must begun when the disease is first noticed. It's way too late for that for this tree. Look at your other trees for signs of it as well. Fungicides stop progression but do not cure.
A good idea is to get a Certified Arborist involved, one who specializes in everything woody. This is always a good idea when moving into a new home when the homeowner can learn about everything in his/her landscape. Arborist evaluations are not expensive and you can find one or more certified arborists in your zip code at www.treesaregood.com Good luck!
