Pink Hawthorn fungus #318653

Asked May 04, 2016, 2:28 AM EDT

I have an epidemic of Entomosporium maculatum in my 15 yr old, established, Pink Hawthorn bushes.  It has killed two of them.

Remove and replace?  (VERY EXPENSIVE!)

Start fungicide treatment program?  Which and how.

PS I prefer cheap and easy!

I am in Las Vegas, Clark County, NV.

This sounds like a heartbreaker! With our crazy wet weather lately, it's bound to be a bigger problem than normal.  Since you have already lost two of your shrubs, you definitely need to prune back as much as you can of the dead foliage and spray with a fungicide containing chlorothalonil. Make sure to pick up all dead leaves since they are a major cause of the disease spread.
