Last year we moved into a new home and have a plant growing in one of the gardens that I don't recognize. It starts out with purple and green leaves very close to the ground (as in yhr picture)and grows into green slender plants with yellow flower about 1 ft.

Can you please provide some information about what country/state/region this plant is growing in? And if you remember any details about the flowers that would help too (shape of the flowers, single or multiple flowers on a stem, size of the flowers).
