Broad leaf grasses #314819

Asked April 20, 2016, 8:50 AM EDT

How could I rid my lawn of broad leaf grasses? I have Scott's lawn service treat my lawn regularly and last fall I had my lawn aerated and overseeded. It looks quite nice except for the broad leaf grasses. The entire lawn isn't effected and I do not want to dig it all up and start from scratch. Also, I don't mind treating each individual sprout if necessary. (spray bottle?) A few pics attached Thank you for any advice you can offer, Dave Popko

Expert Response

That's a tough one. The grass is k31 tall fescue. There is not a chemical that will take this out without also effecting the grass you want to keep. there are some strategies we can use but I would like to talk to you about them. I can be reached at<personal data hidden>.
