Asked March 27, 2016, 3:41 AM EDT
Aloha,
After transferring canned vegetables like peas or carrots into a lid tight plastic container and storing in the refrigerator and after having opened the container used some, the remainder gets slimy ( referring to the clear liquid ) a few days later. Is this normal and OK to eat? Take care, Bob

Slimy is an indication of spoilage, possibly from contamination. Contamination could occur from unclean utensils, containers, or surfaces. Food should not be left out at room temperature for more that 2 hours. It’s best to refrigerate leftovers promptly.
At the time you opened the can, if there is signs that a products is not of sound quality, contact the manufacture.
Usually, leftovers should be consumed within 3-4 days.
