To positively identify mushrooms they should be seen in person or a sample sent in. I would encourage you to contact the http://www.bostonmycologicalclub.org/
That said, it does appear as though it is probably "chicken of the woods." This common name is used for quite a few species now so I also encourage to you to read this excellent discussion: http://botit.botany.wisc.edu/toms_fungi/jul2001.html

Usually I find past prime Chickens have faded and gotten soft & papery; this one still firm & its color weird.Wasn't about to eat it anyhow, but I'm posting a pics of perfect specimens I did eat!
