Rare night bug #293484

Asked December 12, 2015, 11:14 PM EST

Can you identify  this insect? They apears only at night when I use my air conditioner. They do not bite. The fly very fast.  I will appreciate an opinion and how to eliminate them. At  first I  thought they were bed bugs, but carefully I examine my bed and did not find any sign of them.
This photos were taken after I catched  them in a wall an trap them with transparent tape.

Expert Response

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, the photos are too dark and blurry for a positive identification. I'm fairly confident it is not a bed bug though. It almost looks like something in the family of the lady bug or a close relation. I'm not familiar with Puerto Rican beetles. I recommend you contact someone at La Universidad de Puerto Rico and use the website to guide you to a contact. http://www.uprm.edu/p/sea/agricultura_mercadeo_y_recursos_naturales
