There is a strange little grass/weed growing amongst my dad’s PERFECT yard. He is obsessed with finding out what it is and how to kill it before it takes over his PERFECT yard. Here are three pictures. Hope you can help.
Did I mention his yard is PERFECT?

I tend to agree that the annual bluegrass is the most likely. It will be quite a project to eliminate this grass but it can be done. Have him read through the control options. He may have to use a non-selective herbicide (like Round Up) which will kill all grass in that area, reseed but then watch for the sprouting of new plants from the seeds.
