Adding lime #284272

Asked October 12, 2015, 3:04 PM EDT

I got my soul test results for growing wine grapes. It said to add lime to raise the pH from 55 to 65. How much lime do I apply per square-foot? Thank you.

Expert Response

If you got your soil analysis from Penn State, it will give you an exact amount per square foot in the middle of the page under "recommendations". If you got your soil tested by another lab, you should call them to get the exact amount per foot.

Since the pH is important for grapes, I would recommend getting a test kit from your local Penn State Extension and noting on the test page that you are growing wine grapes.
