Orange bugs on plants #278009

This morning I discovered a large number of orange bugs on some of my plants (butterfly plants, I believe). I'm wondering what the bugs are and whether they're harmful? Thank you for your help.

This looks like the Large Milkweed bug. They only feed on milkweeds and are harmless. No control is necessary.
