Birch tree desease #277997

Asked September 14, 2015, 10:37 AM EDT

The leaves of the tree have become yellow in August. Pictures are enclosed. We would like to have a diagnosis of the problem and how to remedy it. Name, age and/or size of plant: Birch tree, 10 years old; ~20 feet high When was the problem was first noted: a month ago (mid-August, 2015) What part of the plant is affected? Leaves have become yellow Have symptoms progressed or changed? No Growing conditions (full sun, part shade, shade, windy, salt spray, etc.): Full sun Soil problems (compacted soil, construction activity, poor drainage); None Pesticide and fertilizer applications: None Photos are included. We suspect, from doing some research, that the problem could be Bronze Birch Borer. There are 3 other birch trees in the backyard, which do not show, yet, such symptoms.
