Hi,
Attached is a photo of two leaves from different vines in my yard.
Could you tell me what kind they are?
Also, the larger one is pretty wild in the yard and I'd like to cut it back and direct its growth next year. Is it ok to cut it back to the stem or should I leave as much as possible?
Thanks!

You haven't said if there are any berries (fruits) on these vines. What is the fall color? How do they attach themselves - tendrils, sucker-pads, twisting around some other support?
The one on the left is possibly Boston Ivy:

It's hard to say about the one on the right. I can't tell how many leaflets there are. it may be a English Ivy but a better photo of the whole leaf, and whole vine would be helpful
These vines can be very aggressive and it's not uncommon for folks to have to prune them. They can take some pretty hard pruning. This should be done in the late winter - early spring before they start to leaf out.
