What are these bugs and how do I get rid of them? #275234

Asked September 02, 2015, 10:10 PM EDT

The last few weeks we found these teeny little brown box, mostly in our bathroom. We see them climbing in the sink, countertops and shower. I did find one downstairs on the carpet but most are upstairs in the bathroom. I'm assuming they're attracted to water? Are they springtails? How do we get rid of them? They are grossing me out!

This is probably a Flour Beetle.  ( The photo is too blurry to pick out details - except for the clubbed antennae.)  As the name suggests, they are mostly found around food stuffs, but because they can fly, they can also be seen in other parts of the house.  Here is some information about this insect, and some ways to control/eliminate it:

Hi Mary, thank you for your response. At first, I too thought it was a flour beetle but upon further research I realize a flower beetle has three distinct body parts. This bug only has two. They don't appear to be able to fly. Thoughts?
