Expert Response

I'm having a little difficulty understanding the problem. From what you write, It sounds like you are getting more blossoms that usual and that is typically good. So I have some more questions:

What was the name of the flower you planted in previous years? Do you have a picture of last year's flower / plant? If so, please include it in your reply.

Is this plant (1) a bulb you replant each year, (2) a green plant you overwintered indoors and set out in the spring, or (3) a transplant you purchased at a garden center?

How did you acquire this plant in previous years and this year?

Please reply to this email so I receive your response directly.
A colleague of mine confirmed that your plant is called Tigridia pavonia, mexican shellflower or Tiger orchid flower http://www.pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/index.php/Tigridia_pavonia

If you still feel you have an issue, please feel free to respond to this email. However, it sounds like you are simply experiencing better bloom than previous years.
