What are the county's recommendations for pond plantings to reduce geese population? #272280

Hello-
I have read various articles that speak of many ways to deter geese - but our community can only start simply - natural plantings around the pond. Please let me know the county's suggestions for grasses, height of grasses, flowers, width of perimeter of plantings, and any other helpful info. We read conflicting info on height of grasses ..... I have read many sites online, but Maryland never seems to chime in! We have been told by the county that we have too many geese. Thank you -

This is not our area of expertise. View the link from Howard County and the Dept of Recreation & Parks. You did not mention if the pond is on county property or if it is private. See their contact information http://www.howardcountymd.gov/DisplayPrimary.aspx?id=2427
Also, view the publication from DNR regarding conflicts with geese. There is information on plantings that geese typically do not bother with. Check the contact information on this link for specific information http://dnr2.maryland.gov/wildlife/Pages/plants_wildlife/ResGeeseProblem.aspx
