Hello:

The catalpa tree has a potential height of 40-50 feet.  Do yo want to introduce the worms to control the plant or to grow fish bait?  The catalpa caterpillar is used by fishermen and they grow the tree to get the caterpillar.  Usually the moth will find the tree and you will not have to introduce it.  Since it is a moth, you can watch at night to see if you notice the moth "hanging" around the tree potentially laying eggs.   We have a diagnostic clinic at the Manatee County Extension Office that can assist you with many of your gardening/landscape questions.
