Berries - What plant? Edible? #270020

Asked August 13, 2015, 8:56 PM EDT

This is a bush used as ornamental in the landscaping around an office building.  Fruit is held on individual stalk, above leaves; seeds are golden colored, ovoid; 4 in each fruit. What is the plant?  Are the berries edible?

Santa Fe County Alaska

Expert Response

The plant looks like a honeysuckle there are many varieties and species of honeysuckle and few are edible I dont think this one is edible because it looks most like bush honeysuckle, Lonicera tatarica, which i have read is mildly toxic
