Pothos #261868

Asked July 14, 2015, 12:57 PM EDT

I received a luscious pothos house plant approx 4 weeks ago. Within the last 1-2 weeks, the leaves become blotchy, and then yellow. The leaves easily drop off. What can I do to make my pothos healthy again?

Expert Response

The pothos is most likely acclimating to the lower light and humidity in your home. Most tropical plants are grown in Florida under ideal conditions where they receive high levels of light and humidity. It may take several weeks for the plant to adjust to the new growing conditions. I would suggest that you simply remove the yellowing leaves. Do not fertilize the plant and water every 7 to 10 days when the soil is dry.
