Dying white pine #259770

Asked July 06, 2015, 9:15 PM EDT

I have a large white pine tree in my yard that is approximately 45 years old. This spring, the needles started turning brown and dropping. It has lost a lot of its needles. It seemed OK last year. What can I do to get it healthy?

Expert Response

That is a very large tree! I can understand your concern. Because of its age and size I recommend contacting a certified tree arborist in your area. If treatment is recommended a professional has access to resources that a homeowner cannot always use, plus the tools needed to do the work. The website http://www.treesaregood.org can help you find a certified arborist.
