How to propagate evergreen clematis #258868

Asked July 02, 2015, 5:21 PM EDT

I have 6 year old evergreen clematis that is over 7 feet tall. It is wedging under the eaves of the house. It does not have multiple stems, just one. I would like to take cuttings to remove the bulk from the eaves and to start the cuttings around my garden. Thank you for your help. I am so glad you are available!

How to propagate cuttings from an evergreen clematis?

It's best to take softwood cuttings in mid summer. I couldn't find anything published by Oregon State University on this topic but there is a good guide to propagating evergreen clematis on SF Gate

Thanks for your interesting question.
