Why are the leaves on my serviceberry tree turning fall color already? #258045

Asked June 29, 2015, 4:49 PM EDT

I have an autumn brilliance serviceberry that leafed out this spring but is now starting to turn fall colors.  Can you explain?  Should I do something?

Expert Response

This service berry looks generally healthy, except for 3 branches that appear stressed. You can prune those branches. Unless there is additional damage or discoloration that I am not seeing in this photo, it should be good. Service Berry does like water, make sure that it is sufficiently hydrated.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
