I have a number of these growing on my rural property this year. Do not recall seeing them previously.
10 foot tall single stalked weed with renuculate leaves coming directly off the stalk. Leaves are 10 to 12 inches long with mid vein. Plant is very shallow rooted - easily breaks off at ground level. Stem at base is 3 inches across.

The weed in your photo looks like a type of wild lettuce. One reason for the height is the amount of moisture we received this year.
