Is this a wild raspberry? #257828
Asked June 29, 2015, 12:39 AM EDT
I found this growing in a vacant lot in northwest Bsltimore Cotu. There are severs of these shrubs, and they're loaded with berries. Are the berries edible? Is this something I could dig up and replant in my garden? If so, when is the best time to do so? Thanks.

Expert Response
Your plant is actually a wineberry, a very invasive plant that should be removed. Although the fruit is edible and rather tasty, the plant will cause you more problems if allowed to remain. Do not replant!
