Ash tree problem? #256305
Asked June 23, 2015, 12:34 AM EDT
The ash trees in my front yard are starting to look quite shabby. They are somewhat patchy (a few dead-looking branches) and I noticed today that the leaves look like something has been eating them. The trunk looks perfect, no scrapes or signs of any bug damage. Any suggestions as to what might be the cause?

Hello,
Other than the dieback you're seeing (which is likely linked to either the November freeze, typical ash behavior in our climate or the Mother's Day freeze), what percent of leaves are exhibiting the symptoms you've sent photos of?
It has been a difficult spring for many of our shade trees and ash have suffered from freeze damage, dieback and other issues. However, without an insect present, it's difficult to diagnose if this is biotic or abiotic.
Is there any additional information you can provide?
