I found a good size pat... #252616

Asked June 09, 2015, 12:57 PM EDT

I found a good size patch of these flowers growing alongside A gravel road in McGregor. They are soft like a rabbits fur. They are currently blooming. The flower stands about 1 foot tall. Can you identify this plant?

Expert Response

Well, I had a difficult time figuring out what that was. It appears to be Arctic Cotton Grass. It is not native to the area but grows in Canada and the very cold north. Here is a link to compare the photos. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/93837/

In addition to the link given you by Sherry, you might want to look at this one too.
