We have an honey crisp apple tree that is about 4 years old. It finally bloomed for the first time and looked great. Now, the leaves are curling up, like no water, and falling off??? No apparent bugs or spots and the blooms seem to be forming into apples but the tree looks like it's dying?? I should add, we have two harrelson trees next to the honey crisp that were planted at the sametime. They are doing fine and growing like weeds

There are several reasons that leaves may curl on an apple tree. One
may be due to high temperatures. Supplying plenty of water to the tree
would be beneficial. Leaves curl to protect themselves. Aphids could be another reason. The
leaf will curl due to aphid feeding. Aphids also produce large amounts
of honeydew which covers leaves, branches, and other nearby objects.
Honeydew is a waste product that aphids produce while they are feeding
which is also attractive to ants. You might check for these signs. Are
the leaves brown or are they still green and curling? Check the leaves
for any spotting, which could be caused by a fungal leaf spot. If you
could reply to this message and supply us with digital photos of the
leaves and the tree, it would help us to determine better what the cause
is.
Enclosed are pics of the honey crisp and it's problems. Hope you can help, we've spent three years

It is common for honeycrisp to delay bearing for up to seven years. It may be affected by a physiological condition specific to Honeycrisp
called leaf zonal chlorosis or Honeycrisp leaf complex. Mottling and
curling are typical symptoms. The complex isn't caused by disease,
insects or nutrient deficiency and usually doesn't affect the tree's
growth or productivity or it may just be the weather, give it a little more time.
