What type of leaf is it eating?

It's not eating it.....my son threw it in there with it.  He found it on his backpack in the car....any suggestions?

Hi,
It looks like a type Forage Looper Moth. They are in fields and prairies and Larvae feed on alfalfa, clover and grasses. It's a brownish spotted moth.
