Little black beetles on window sills #247549

There can be up to a dozen on my window sills, inside. They seem to be disoriented and many are on their backs or already dead. They fall on the carpet and die there as well.
Anyone know what they are and if so, how do I get rid of them??
The window where I shot these images remains closed all the time, so they may be coming through the cracks around the window; they're about as long as a grain of rice.

These look like black carpet beetles. Please find info and controls on our website at: http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/carpet-beetles
