Follow up to previous que... #246591

Asked May 23, 2015, 9:25 AM EDT

Follow up to previous question - the tree in question is located directly adjacent to a stockade fence which has on the other side a large stand of 20' high bamboo, shoots of which have been found on our side of the fence and dug out, but still remain. Could that be the source of the problem? And how do we resolve the bamboo issue? Thanks

Expert Response

We are not sure which tree is in question, but we can address the bamboo problem.  Persistence is the key to getting rid of bamboo.  As soon as you see the first baby bamboo leaf, either dig it out or hit it with glyphosate (RoundUp).  Allowing any growth at all only nourishes the root system.  vw
