I believe some of these plants are a type of wild viola, as suggested by the purple flowers. However, I am concerned that others might be the dreaded Houttuynia cordata that cause me such grief in years past. Can you positively identify these plants and suggest a means to control them? They are between two beds of decorative shrubs and plants so I am reluctant to use herbicides.
