Apple Tree Leaf Damage #243037

Asked May 09, 2015, 8:04 PM EDT

I would like an opinion on the photos uploaded here of my apple tree. Last year, my two apple trees were afflicted by apple scab. With 2014 apple scab in mind, I started early prep this year. When the leaves were about 0.5" to 1" long, I started treating with myclobutanil. As of today, I have treated both of my apple trees twice. There is, however, some damage to the leaves. My guess would be insect damage as opposed to a fungal infection.

Expert Response

Suggest examining the underside of the leaf for any insects that may be present. The damage appears more environmental than that caused by an insect. The product you are using is only for fungal diseases and does not have any effect on insects. You may want to include an all purpose fruit tree spray in your program. Immunox plus is both an insecticide and a fungicide.
