The new leaves of my arab... #240043

Asked April 27, 2015, 11:40 PM EDT

The new leaves of my arabica coffee tree are a light green, but the veins are much darker. Is there a food/element/water problem? Thanks!

Expert Response

After ruling out other causes of yellowing due to insect or disease problems (pathogenic diseases caused by fungi or other organisms), herbicide misuse, or a history of too much water in the soil, the symptoms you have described are  a classic symptom of Iron deficiency.

Have you done a soil test lately? High pH (above 7.0) can result into Iron deficiency.
