Fungus on Dogwwood tree #238899

Have a dogwood tree that the bark was nicked with arrows(0.5-1.5cm) during the winter. A few weeks ago I noticed wet spots running down the trunk of sap/water. Now a yellow orange fungus is growing in the wet streaks. Should I remove the fungus with something like a H2O2 solution or leave it alone?

Expert Response
You do not need to do anything about the orange growth on the sap or the sap itself. If there are dead branches, remove them. The sap is one means that the dogwood has for protecting itself. vw
