Pine needles turning brown #227182

Asked February 09, 2015, 1:21 PM EST

Can you tell from these photos why my pine trees are turning brown? If so what can I do to fix it?

Expert Response

This is actually a Spruce tree and seems to be showing signs of winter dessication. Many of the evergreen trees are showing this same browning of the needles due to the drastic weather changes we had in November. The only way to help this tree is to water on the warm days (over 32degrees). The tree may need to be pruned in the spring to remove dead buds.
