Hello, I have a blueberry plant outdoors in a pot, there are rolled leaves, blueberries frequently have holes in them and can be joined together. I have found the caterpillar like pest - see attached images. It is 10mm or 3/8 inch long. It does not exactly match the pests you have listed, can you identify it ? thanks, Julian

Expert Response

Julian, I cannot be completely certain from the photo, but I think the caterpillar is a red-banded leafroller. they are typically less common and less damaging to blueberries than oblique-banded leafrollers.  They overwinter as a pupa and emerge in early spring. The larvae web leaves together and eat shallow holes in the fruit. there are typically two generations per year in Michigan.
