Rats in South Carolina #222528
Asked December 15, 2014, 7:01 AM EST
I live outside of Charleston SC on the coast and have just had damage to my car totaling $4000.00, caused by rats. Picture included of rat in my engine.( three were in the engine when I started the car, causing extensive damage.)
My car is parked in a car port.We did trap two in my attic last summer, but no evidence of any more after repairs were made around chimney. I believe they are Marsh Rats. I am trying to find some effective means of prevention,as all the popular methods do not work or are dangerous to other animals( moth balls, peppermint, ultrasonic equipment. Can you offer any suggestions?
