Huge Maple Leaf #218516

My hubby found a maple leaf that is 14 in across.We have never seen one so big. Is this unusual?

It's a sycamore leaf

We are so confused because we dont have any Sycamore trees around,only maple. Thanks

The leaf must have blown in from somewhere, or possibly it was dropped off of a truck carrying leaves that were to be recycled. The following link will take you to a site that will provide more information about Sycamores, including some nice photos. At this time of year it is fairly easy to spot a Sycamore because of the distinct bark and seed pods. When you are out and about keep a watchful eye, and you may see the Sycamore that sent this leaf your way.
