1/2 " +, pentagon(?) shaped beetle?. looks like a military tank.
they are everywhere,Are they harmful? they look malevolent. Should I be concerned?

What you are describing is possibly an invasive Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) OR a Rough Stink Bug. We are seeing very high numbers of the BMSB right now. Here is a website to help you determine which stink bug you have: http://horticulture.oregonstate.edu/content/biology-and-identification.

They are not harmful to humans but it is a very invasive pest that is causing a lot of concern to fruit and specialty crop farming in Oregon.
