Controlling Aquatic Plants #213737

Asked September 22, 2014, 5:38 PM EDT

I have about 1/2 acre of lake front that is overrun with milfoil and other submerged aquatic growth. It's too much and too deep average depth 4' to 6' deep to try and remove by hand. My research directed me to either Hydrothol Granular or Navigate. Is this the product you would recommend to totally eradicate the submersed weeds or is there something better?

I suggest you review the recommendations about milfoil control at the University of Florida Invasive Exotic website: http://plants.ifas.ufl.edu/
Then contact your local 'Ask an Expert' at Polk County Extension office http://polk.ifas.ufl.edu/contact_us.shtml for recommendations and if there are any control measure - biological, cultural and chemical controls, along with pesticide regulations or requirements for dealing with this aquatic weed.
