I am growing a avocado seed using the toothpick water style. My seed split has a 1.5 root and you can see the plant inside. The top of the plant seems to be burnt a rwK dark color but the rest seems ok. Should i be concerned. Shoukd i clip of the dark part. Please help.

We cannot see the root you are referring to. All you can do is monitor the plant. You do have the option of starting over. See the attached link on starting an avocado from seed http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/hort/info/inform/indoor/avocado.htm

Yes, you can cut out the dark part. Starting avacado plants from seed is usually very easy to do, so if this attempt fails, don't hesitate to start over.
