I am sorry to read of the problem that you are having with your dogwood. There are a number of factors that may be responsible for the tree’s decline. However more information will be necessary to suggest a diagnosis. I recommend that you call Philadelphia’s Hortline. You will be able to speak to a Master Gardener and provide more information on your trees environment and symptoms.
The Horticulture hotline (HortLine) of the Penn State Extension Philadelphia Master Gardeners is a free service for residents of Philadelphia and surrounding areas. Master Gardeners are ready to answer questions pertaining to the appropriate selection of vegetables, ornamental plants, pesticides, soil, plant identification, pruning, compost, mulch, insect control, plant diseases and more.
