Apple issues #196247

A client came into the office with some apples he picked from his trees. He has been having the same issue for about 4 years and has tried herbicides and pesticides with no luck in getting rid of whatever is causing this issue. The spots start early in the growing cycle every year. The apples are still good, but with bad spots in them. What can he do to get rid of this issue? (the apples are starting to dry out and shrivel a bit in the pic, they are not normally like that).

I think you have plum curculio… those moon shaped stars are from egg laying of the females.  Please see the following article and let me know if this is what you are seeing:http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/2000/2043.html
