Ok plant people. Need some help here. - I've had this Philodendron for a year now and it's having some problems. Leaves are turning yellow and the new growth doesn't really make it to maturity. Too much water? Not enough? Does it need more nitrogen/fertilizer? I water every 2 weeks and it's been in the same spot for year.

Expert Response

It is probably too much water. Philodendron prefer moist but not soggy soil (like a damp sponge). Never let the plants stand in water. Fertilize philodendrons regularly with a dilute water-soluble houseplant fertilizer, or use a time-release fertilizer. Read directions carefully as too much fertilizer can cause tips of leaves to curl and brown. LW
